Major sculptures
The majority of the sculptures of Max Ernst are bronzes produced in several copies and formats, from giant works like “The Capricorn” (247x210x155cm) up to creations of small formats in greater production like “Chéri Bibi”, “Mon ami Pierrot”…
Its museum in Brühl, his hometown, with its exceptional collection created under the aegis of its scientific director Dr. Jürgen Pech, gathers more than three hundred works, including most representative bronzes of Max Ernst.
Among them, a piece of two of its major works, which are also the pride of the greatest museum collections or those of major foundations and German and American collections: "The Capricorn" and "The King playing with the Queen"
